In this opening scene, the focus is cinematography, including angles, framing and editing. These micro elements will show the conflict between the group of friends and what happens to them throughout the night. Extreme close up shots will show the emotions of the characters easier and long shots will set the scene and explain to the audience what is happening throughout the scene.
There will be an extreme long shot of the cabin that is filled with teenagers showing the start of a typical horror teenage party.

We see a cabin from a distance (Extreme long shot) as the sound of music from the cabin fills the air ( diegetic). The 4 people walk down a narrow path leading to the cabin surrounded by trees, as the cabin is isolated (tracking backwards)
The group of friends reach the time worn door and are then surrounded by the music. The crowd of people the group of friends see are drinking and dancing as someone hands Arielle a red up(mise en scene).
Arielle and Layton walk through the crowded bodies towards the dance floor as they start dancing (two shot close up). In the distance we can see Ashton glaring at Arielle and Layton, showing some conflict (point of view).

There will be a extreme close up of the faces of Ariel and Layton, to show the anger and hurt.

We see Layton look towards Ashton (point of view shot) as the sound of music continues to fill the air (diegetic) we then see Layton and Arielle arguing (shot reverse shot) and Layton walks out of the party with Arielle following behind.
a s they are arguing we hear leaves and sticks crunching in the forest ( diegetic) then a shadow shifts in the trees ( long shot)
