The Shining At the start of this clip there is a close up point of view shot of the women looking at the pieces of paper. This shot shows me what the woman sees through her eyes, telling me its important.  The camera then cuts to a low angle shot of the women. using this particular shot shows the audience her facial expression better as she looks scared. Also there is medium close up shot, showing some of the background behind the women and all of the women face. The camera suddenly cuts to a long shot of the women looking through the papers. The camera pans right to left, as if someone is coming from behind the wall, making me feel tense and on edge. The camera continues to pan right to left, to show a long shot of the women, however it reveals more of the setting and it makes me feel like someone is sneaking up behind the women. As the camera complete comes out into the open of the setting and not behind the wall, a silhouette of a person comes to view in front of the camera, m
Scene No. 1 Page No. 1 Slugline EXT. OUTSIDE CABIN – NIGHT (PRESENT) End Point in Last Scene First Scene Characters in Scene Arielle              Lydia Ashton            Layton Point of Scene To show the main group of friends at a party. For the audience to get to know the characters personalities. Conflict Arielle arguing with Lydia over Ashton. Ending/central Question What will happen to the group of friends in the end? Key Micro Elements In this opening scene, the focus is cinematography, including angles, framing and editing. These micro elements will show the conflict between the group of friends and what happens to them throughout the night. Extreme close up shots will show the emotions of the characters easier and long shots will set the scene and explain to the audience what is happening throughout the scene. There will be an extreme long shot of the cabin that is filled with teenagers showing the start of a typica
Reflective Analysis The aim of my step-outline was to create a short horror sequence that would appeal to ages 16+. In this sequence I used a variety of micro-features to introduce the characters and to show the setting to give the audience an eerie feeling from the setting. The first micro-feature i used within the scene was cinematography and in the second scene i focused on mise en scene, these micro elements would allow to add conventions of a horror film easier and show them more effectively within the scenes. I created this horror sequence because i wanted to use cliche conventions of a horror film and what people would expect to see in a horror film. Within the first scene i used a convention of a horror film as i used an isolated cabin with a forest surrounding it to set the party in. I then used a tracking backwards shot as the four friends Arielle, Layton, Ashton and Lydia, walked down the narrow path leading to the cabin, i used a tracking shot because i wante

This clip taken from The Bourne Identity a movie directed by Doug Liman and released in 2002. The genre of the film is Action. The reason for it being Action is because the film contains the conventions of a action film as Jason Bourne jumps out of a building and he is chased by security, these are all conventions of a Action genre. In this clip numerous cinematic and dramatic choices are made to ensure a successful platform for the film, in this essay the main focus is solely on both cinematography and sound. The clip is taken from the climax of the film therefore there is a wide variety of shots for the viewer to assess accordingly. At the beginning of the clip an extreme long shot/ establishing shot from a high angle which makes the characters seem small and vulnerable, as something bad might happen. This shot is used to set the scene of a snowy day on a busy road, the shot has just cut from one scene to another; this ensures the viewer is aware of what is going on at all times d

e> The beginning of Men in Black 3 is a women walking through a corridor with a cake. The setting she is in looks like a jail because of the guards and the jail cells. Also the added security of the jail sets the scene that it is a isolated jail for bad criminals. We can also see that it is a jail as the guard looks through bars into the cell and the man inside is wearing chains that are wrapped around his neck, holding him to his cell. This scene of notebook portrays the man to be more confident than the women as he is being humours and being a gentlemen to the women. However the women appears to be confident as well as she plays along with his humour and they are both keeping eye contact with each other, showing they are both confident and happy with each other. In the film Never Back Down. the character Jake os training at the gym. The reason the audience knows his is a t a gym is because of the props and costumes. The boxing gloves resembles he is boxing and the p

The sound of this clip is non-diegetic because you can not see where the music is coming from, the characters in the film cannot hear the music that is playing. It made me feel nervous as the music was building tension. This clip shows low key lighting because the light is coming from under the girl which creates fear and mystery. This makes me feel scared and worried for the girl.
